Ryan Adams and The Cardinals started leg one of their new tour in downtown Raleigh, North Carolina at the beautiful Red Hat Amphitheater. The weather that weekend was rainy in Raleigh, so fans as well as Ryan and company were hoping things were clear up. As showtime approached adn the fans began to file in, the rain actually stopped but it remained overcast. After an amazing opening set by Ruby Force, the stage was switched over for Ryan’s set. The rain continued to drizzle on and off but didn’t completely stop during his set. That didn’t stop him from rockin’ out all evening! It was interesting to hear the rock set because Ryan is a beast on the guitar! The set covered five (I think, but will be corrected if I am wrong) albums, included a cover of Bob Dylan’s “Love Sick” as well as the live debut of “Dear Candy.” Ryan played for an hour and then had a ten minute intermission before returning for close to another hour. The complete setlist is at the end of the photo gallery.
I’m Music Magazine Owner/Editor Johnny Price was there (wishing her had windshield wipers on his glasses) and returned with this great pix of Ryan and his band in action!
