Sammy Hagar is currently out on The Best of All Worlds Tour. The tour, which began on July 13th in West Palm Beach FL is set to run through August 31st ending in Maryland Heights, MD. While the set list each night spans Hagar’s entire career, a huge portion of the set is filled with songs to pay tribute to Van Halen. Michael Anthony joins in on bass, along with Joe Satriani on guitar, and Jason Bonham filling in on drums for the tour. What this line up brings to the stage each night is nothing short of magic and loads of nostalgia.
We were excited to catch this tour when it rolled into PNC Music Pavilion in Charlotte, NC on July 19th. The heat settled down that night as some summer rain hit the area. Which luckily only resulted in a short time change as they moved up sets a little earlier in the evening. However, this definitely didn’t affect the crowd even a little bit. 14,000 excited fans piled into the venue and were already up and singing along when special guests Loverboy got the show started.
After a short set change, Sammy Hagar would hit the stage. The band wasted no time and charged straight into “Good Enough,” off of Van Halen’s 5150. The band ended up playing a full 2 hour set and what I witnessed was everyone up cheering and singing along the entire time. Fans were excited from the very first note until the very last. This is a summer tour you definitely don’t want to miss.
