Shinedown has a lot to celebrate this year! They released their 7th studio album Planet Zero on July 1st which hit #1 on Billboard’s Top Album Sales it’s first week of release. Their most recent single “Daylight” became their 19th single to top the charts at Active Rock Radio. They’re headlining arenas, festivals, and selling the places out everywhere they go.

In celebration of this, SiriusXM not only have added Shinedown Radio for the month which will play music from their entire 20-year career. They also added Shinedown to their “Small Stage Series” with having the band play a private show at The Orange Peel in Asheville, NC.

On August 25th, Shinedown would hit the stage at The Orange Peel for the first time in 13 years. This time however they would be playing a show for only 600 invited guests. Each fan in the crowd this night had to have listened to SiriusXM and win a spot to attend this special performance. As a fan myself, I was ecstatic to be invited to attend and photograph the show. When I arrived an hour prior to doors opening, there was already a line around the block of attendees waiting IN THE RAIN just to be some of the first ones in the door!

All attendees were given a bag of goodies from SiriusXM including a special t-shirt commemorating the event and 2 very lucky people won guitars signed by the band! This crowd was amped up way before it even started.

Shinedown hit the stage at 8pm and kicked straight into “The Saints of Violence and Innuendo” off their latest album Planet Zero. If you’ve been to Shinedown shows before, you’ve probably gotten used to seeing lots and lots of pyro. That was of course missing this night, but definitely wasn’t needed. As per usual, the band brought the fire into every single song they played. They performed a 15-song set spanning their entire career and including tracks from every album to date. The crowd could not only be heard singing word for word on every song, they were constantly cheering, jumping, and you definitely saw every single fist in the air for “Sound of Madness.”
