Here at I’m Music Magazine, we work with artists of all levels. Everybody from the big dogs like KISS and Aerosmith to the little puppies such as garage bands still finding their identity. Every big dog in the industry was a little puppy at one time. We love bringing new artists to your attention who we think have something really special going on. One of those artists is Kate Angel.
Kate Angel is blossoming into a major driving force behind New Generation Rock in today’s ever- evolving music culture. The talented alt-rock singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist was born and raised in “The Live Music Capital of the World” of Austin, Texas, and has had a keen sense of music her entire life. By age ten, she was already showing incredible vocal proficiency, as well as a growing expertise in piano and guitar.
Kate’s self-written second EP VENOM was co-produced with Blue October bassist Matt Noveskey and Kelsey Flanagan at the famed Orb Recording Studios in Austin, TX, and released on 2/14/23. The new songs continued to lean heavily into both classic and new alt rock influences, as she further establishes her name in the industry.
If Halestorm and Paramore had a musical love child, then its name would be Kate Angel. On the title track “Venom” she shows her continued growth as a songwriter and musician. She has the rock and roll grit of a young Lzzy Hale of Halestorm plus the pop-punk attitude of Hayley Williams of Paramore. “Venom” is an infectious song as it hooks you in and you can’t help but start feeling the rhythm that runs through the track.
We highly recommend her VENOM EP; she’s definitely an artist that you need to keep your eyes and ears on.
