Snapcat Bandits, out of Detroit, MI., are back and better than ever with their new song and video, “September Rain”, out now. Mike and Melanie, the members of Snapcat Bandits, are already garnering a lot of new fans with its upbeat vibe and unforgettable melody.
Mike says, “September Rain”, was inspired by the 1985 movie “Against All Odds”, and the title track performed by Phil Collins. The song is set on a rainy night in September, looking through the front window of a house with two people dancing across a hardwood floor. The two people have gone to great lengths to be together, and they will do anything to stay together for as long as they can.”
The video for, “September Rain”, has a story of its own, showing rain showers and a thunderstorm. Melanie says, “I think that the two people in the song may have circumstances that make it difficult for them to be together, so they are “holding on” to those precious moments before they have to decide to either shake up their lives to stay together or end up having to let it go. They know they are right for each other and are in love. Whether they stay together or not would cause heartbreak either way. It’s a difficult decision to make for them. The setting is beautiful, and for one night the world is their own.”
Snapcat Bandits believe, “September Rain”, may take on many meanings depending on the perspective of the listener and their own circumstances at the time. It could be the lyrics that reach someone, or the music that touches them. Melanie says, “The single has a haunting riff that draws people in, and the thunderous progression that keeps their heart in it.”
Mike and Melanie are currently in the process of finishing writing for their next EP and beginning the pre-production of the new songs in their home studio. You can expect the new music in 2025.
