Snapcat Bandits, out of Detroit, MI., are back with a new single and video, “Nothing to Prove”, off of their forthcoming album, Anything and Nothing, that addresses a very bold and blunt topic, dropping January 24, 2025.
Together since 2023, Snapcat Bandits is Mike Krupinski (guitar, bass, vocals) and Melanie D. Marshall (drums), who have taken the alt rock world by storm with thousands of plays on all streaming platforms, including Spotify and YouTube.
Mike says, “Nothing to Prove”, is as honest as it gets for me. I got tired of people hassling me about how I go about doing things, and it could be anything. This is my response. “Nothing to Prove”, to myself or to you. The verses talk about how one gets to that place where it doesn’t matter how people view you. The pre-choruses describe not having to show me a thing or saying what you mean, because at the end of the day, it doesn’t really matter. If we runout of time as the chorus describes, so what. In the bridge, I can throw away my pride, and we can even call it a truce if we don’t see eye to eye on the point of view.”
Their video was shot near Kellogg Park downtown Plymouth, MI. Melanie says, “I am officially both videographer and director for our performance music videos, and I love getting in the zone to make the video the best it can be. I’d like to call this a performance video although there is just as much goofing off and humor in this one as there is performance. We wanted to portray, in a fun and interesting way, the concept of, “Nothing to Prove”. I found this awesome alleyway just off the beaten path of our original shooting destination, and we set up shop making this the main point of origin in the video.”
In 2025, Snapcat Bandits plan on bringing more of their songs, with strong melodies and catchy hooks, to the masses. Most importantly, they want to make meaningful connections with fans, supporters, and like-minded bands.
Currently, Snapcat Bandits are working away on more music. Mike says, “We’re in pre-production for our next EP and have seven songs to be recorded. We are very excited about the development of the tracks on this next album. The topics are more personal and moodier, and the guitars are tuned down.”
You can catch Snapcat Bandits scheduled at Trixie’s, in Hamtramck, MI., in March and also playing a handful of local shows, as well as venturing out of Michigan to other stages in the US.
“Nothing to Prove”, was produced by Super Producer and Engineer, Chuck Alkazian (Pop Evil, Soundgarden, Tantric) at Pearl Sound Studios (Asking Alexandria, Eminem, Filter) in Canton, MI.
