Sons of Silver are out on the road opening up Myles Kennedy’s The Art of Letting Go Tour 2025.  Also joining them on the tour is Tim Montana. It’s a long night of rock with each artist bringing their own flavor to each set thus not making it a boring night of repetition. The tour made a stop in Charlotte, North Carolina on January 31 at The Neighborhood Theatre. People were lining up early to grab a prime spot in the general admission theatre. By the time Sons of Silver hit the stage, the venue was over half full.

Now, to be honest, there were a lot of people there who did not know who the band was. Sons of Silver are led by lead singer/guitarist Pete Argyropoulos. The band had played in Charlotte but it was in their prior days as Pete RG. This lineup consists of the same people plus a new drummer Marc Slutsky. The sound is a bit different as well. The band is out in support of their first full length album Runaway Emotions. The band had just finished a run of dates with Dogstar (featuring Keanu Reeves) before jumping on this leg of Myles’ tour.

The stage setup was pretty tight with all three band’s gear onstage thus giving them very little room to move around. That didn’t seem to bother them too much. Pete, along with guitarist Kevin Haaland and bassist Adam Kury still found some space to move back and forth. I ran into a few people who said ‘he looks like the bassist from Candlebox.’ I had to tell more than one person that they were correct and that he is that guy. The band hit the stage and ripped into “Read ‘Em Their Right” from their earlier EP Doomsday Voices. The band was very focused and sounded great! They packed a lot into their short, six song set. There was very little crowd banter and their set was more of a rapid fire assault of the senses with one song after another.

If you’ve followed the band for a while then you can notice the difference in the sound and vibe of their set due to the new music from Runaway Emotions. Lead guitarist Kevin Haaland really does have more room to breathe with his playing. That’s really true in the live setting as he really does take these songs to a new level with his live playing. Marc Slutsky is their new drummer and he brings a style of playing that really compliments the band in a way that I think has been missing. The band also played their new single “Running Out of Words.”  It’s a song that could really elevate this band to another level if it hits the right outlet to help expose it to the masses. A shout-out to keyboardist/vocalist Brina Kabler whose playing is underrated in this band. She plays a melodic melody that weaves all throughout the songs, evident more so in some than others. A guitar solo really slaps you in the face but her playing is something that has you tapping your foot and you’re not even aware of it. Lead vocalist/guitarist Pete Argyropoulos, or Pete RG for short, was born to front a band. His guitar playing is great and a very integral part of the songs.  Yet, it’s his rich voice, along with his charisma, that really is captivating.

Suddenly Pete announced that they were about to play their last song and to come to their merch stand because they would all be there. It was a short set but a damn good one. The band then spent the rest of the evening at their merch area talking to fans, signing stuff and taking pictures. That one-on-one interaction really does go a long way. It was a lot more solid than some bands that play sets twice or three times as long. Hopefully the band will be able to go out and play more from their catalog. If you get a chance to go see them then we highly suggest that you do. They are a damn good rock band who happen to be real. Real as in they write their own songs, play their own instruments and they perform live. That’s really missing in a lot of the music scene right now. We also suggest that you check out their new album Runaway Emotions which is on all the streaming services and available from their website.
