Tesla is currently out on the “Keepin’ It Real” Tour. We were absolutely stoked to catch the band when they hit up DPAC in Durham, North Carolina back on March 13th. DPAC was already filled with excited fans that night when opener, Kurt Deimer, came out to get the crowd warmed up. When Tesla hit the stage and tore into “Lady Luck,” we witnessed the entire crowd on their feet cheering and singing along already.
The crowd did immediately notice lead guitarist, Frank Hannon was missing from stage this night. The band announced he’d had a family emergency and was unable to play, but Sammy Boller, from Kurt Deimer’s band would step up and fill in these gigantic shoes for Frank. It’s actually great to see musicians step up like this and shows true professionalism to make the show go on for the thousands of fans already attending the event. Tesla put on a fantastic show for the crowd that night. And the biggest thing I noticed personally, was absolutely no one sat back down all night! Fans were literally on their feet from the first note to the very last and was having a great time.
We’ve always been fans of Tesla, but the band continues to win over new fans and old with an amazing stage presence and putting everything into every performance they do night after night. The “Keepin’ It Real” Tour will continue through out 2024, including a “Las Vegas Takeover” where they will hit up The House of Blues in Las Vegas for 5 nights in April. Also, don’t forget to check out this years Record Store Day on April 20th, where the band will be releasing 2007’s “Real To Reel” on vinyl for the very first time.
