The Bunny The Bear just headed out for a week long east coast tour where they brought along MISERY! and Life Right Now. Night one they would hit up Skylark Social Club in Charlotte, NC and we were stoked to be there.
Skylark is a small venue, but a favorite for locals and always has some great music going. This night was no different. When we got there that night there was already a pretty nice sized crowd outside hanging out waiting for the show. The first band wouldn’t start until after 8pm, but it was a Friday night in Charlotte. The night had barely even begun for this crowd and they all piled inside once the music started.
The Bunny The Bear wouldn’t hit the stage until after midnight. One would think the fans might be a little exhausted after a few hours now of jumping up and down, but definitely not. Not even a little bit. The band hit the stage with someone noticeably missing though. Matthew Tybor (aka “The Bunny”) announced they’d lost their bear somewhere in California. He joked “You have The Bunny The Band tonight.” While we can only assume The Bear must have happened upon a delicious picnic and forgotten us, all was quickly forgotten once the band started into the first track.
The fans still had loads of energy ready for their set, and as it turns out, lots of voices left for singing along to absolutely every track. Between every song you could also hear some chanting for what they wanted to hear next. The band wouldn’t finish playing until well after 1am and it was a full party every second.
