Live music and touring are on lockdown right now and fans as well as artists are going through withdrawals. We wanted to come up with something fun to help bridge that distance between fans and artists right now. What we came up with is something called The Lockdown Lowdown and it’s a Q&A session with fun questions for artists to answer. They’re not your typical interview questions, so it gives you a peek inside of the artists themselves. We’re big music nerds here at I’m Music Magazine and we love learning things like this about the artists that we love. We’re pretty sure that you’ll get a kick out of these, so we hope you’ll take the time to read them. In this installment , we spoke with M. Nox from Living Dead Stars!
How have you been doing during the pandemic and how are you spending your time?
M. Nox/Living Dead Stars: Well, like many people were pretty disappointed when this happened because we were in the final stages of preparing for a full European tour before our agency called us up and told us that we have to postpone everything until much later this year. I, for my part, have mostly just spent the nights alone in my room trying to figure out how we can make the best out of the situation. Near the start of the lockdown me and the drummer Ashley were starting with some “Quarantine Acoustic Sessions” that we streamed on our Facebook and Instagram fan pages. Shortly after that we were then completely unable to get together but have stayed in close contact throughout the pandemic period, working on interview and review requests that have come to us.
Have you been working on new music?
We started writing quite a bit while we were touring in the UK in February and now everybody is writing on their own coming up with and working on new ideas until the lockdowns are lifted. Once we’re able to get back together we’ll pool our new material and see what we can do with all as a band.

Who are five artists that influenced you as a musician?
Well, to a huge extend Avenged Sevenfold followed by Five Finger Death Punch, Breaking Benjamin, Rise Against and one of the absolute masters of film scoring, Hans Zimmer.
What are your five favorite live albums?
I’ll be honest, I tend not to listen to live albums especially when they’re really great gigs as it makes me just feel gutted that I wasn’t there.
Life on the road; what are your five of the craziest/funniest/scariest tour stories?
Just like what happens in Las Vegas, what happens on tour stays on tour haha.
What are your five favorite movies?
It’s gonna be Inception (mainly cause of the Music)
Rock of Ages, Get him to the Greek, Disney’s the Lion King and Nightmare Before Christmas.
Best and worst advice you ever heard.
Best: Be careful who you trust.
Worst: Give up being a musician and get a real job. As you can tell, that advice was not given any attention haha.
Strangest thing you ever autographed.
Oh it’s gotta be when a girl that came to one of my shows told me she wanted my name tattooed on her belly. She got me to write my signiature directly onto her. I did apoligize to her boyfriend who was stood right next to her.
If music was over today and you had to go into professional wrestling, what would your wrestling name be?
Haha, well I would probably name myself Noxinator, if you ask the rest of the band they would probably say Flying Stick.
