Live music and touring are on lockdown right now and fans as well as artists are going through withdrawals. We wanted to come up with something fun to help bridge that distance between fans and artists right now. What we came up with is  something called The Lockdown Lowdown and it’s a Q&A session with fun questions for artists to answer. They’re not your typical interview questions, so it gives you a peek inside of the artists themselves. We’re big music nerds here at I’m Music Magazine and we love learning things like this about the artists that we love. We’re pretty sure that you’ll get a kick out of these, so we hope you’ll take the time to read them. In this installment, we sat down for a fun Q&A session with Andrey (vocals/synth) and Sasha (vocals/keys) from Major Moment!

How have you been doing during the pandemic and how are you spending your time?

We’re doing fine, thank you for asking! It’s hard to keep up good mental health with everything that’s going on, but we’re trying. We’ve spent the vast majority of that time preparing for the release of our new single “The Flood.” (out now https://ffm.to/theflood.opr).

That’s awesome, but it makes my next question a little awkward. Oh well, let’s do it anyway! Have you been working on new music and/or videos? If so, tell us about it!

We have! Literally hours before the stay at home orders were placed, we finished recording 4 new songs at The Halo Studio (South Windham, ME), the first being “The Flood”. The other 3 will be released later this year, possibly leading into the next year. As of now we’re going to be focusing on heavily promoting “The Flood”, as we strongly believe this is the best song we’ve released so far. Besides the single itself, we have a plethora of supporting content to go with it: a lyric video, a photoshoot that got out of control and became a project of its own titled “The Flood Sessions” (done by super-talented Ian Urquhart), a music video… or two, haha, and an alternative version of the song. Or two. It’s a lot, so stay tuned!

Life on the road; 5 of the craziest/funniest/scariest tour stories

Haven’t toured yet, so can’t really tell of any disasters, haha. But hopefully, if things will get back to normal, we will be able to finally go on tour.

We will definitely circle back with you for a follow-up on this one!

What are your 5 favorite movies?

Andrey:

– 28 Days Later

– Terminator 2: The Judgement Day

– Pulp Fiction

– Across The Universe

– La La Land

– Interstellar

I was struggling at #3 for like 15 minutes, but then it just had to be 6 for some reason. Musicians, you know?

Sasha: oh-oh… weak spot. I loooove movies! To really choose 5 movies I love the most, I’d have to sit for a day and think about it… so, I’ll mention the ones I have on top of my head right now. (They are not in order, and besides what Andrey already named)

– The Butterfly Effect

– The Pursuit of Happiness

– Eight Below

– Requiem For a Dream

– Shutter Island

What’s the best and worst advice you ever heard?

Andrey:

The worst advice any musician can get is: “just make good music and success will come”.

The best advice I’ve heard is “failure is necessary to succeed, so fail often”. Those are the words I live by, hahaha.

Sasha:

The worst advice I’ve heard came from our ex-drummer: “you need to take a step back, scale it down, stop spending money”. Lol. Just no. There’s no going back!

Best advice “stay true to yourself and work hard for something you believe in”

What’s the strangest thing you ever autographed?

Andrey: We sadly didn’t get that far in our career to have autographed body parts and weird objects, it has all been standard so far.

Sasha: “I did autograph someone’s hand, yup.”

If music was over today and you had to go into professional wrestling, what would your wrestling name be?

Andrey: Oh, boy. That’s definitely one career I have not seriously considered yet… However, I’m pretty sure I’d be known as “The Machine” or “Red Alert”.

Sasha: hahahaha! That would be the worst day of my life! But, I take everything seriously, soo.. “The Beast”!

“The Beast” and “The Machine”. There you go guys!

That sounds like one of those classic tag-teams that split and then feud with each other!
