Live music and touring have been on lockdown and fans as well as artists are going through withdrawals. We wanted to come up with something fun to help bridge that distance between fans and artists right now. What we came up with is  something called The Lockdown Lowdown and it’s a Q&A session with fun questions for artists to answer. They’re not your typical interview questions, so it gives you a peek inside of the artists themselves. We’re big music nerds here at I’m Music Magazine and we love learning things like this about the artists that we love. We’re pretty sure that you’ll get a kick out of these, so we hope you’ll take the time to read them. In this installment, we sat down for a fun Q&A session with Codey Red of Silvertung.

My 5 favorite live album:

Rush- Hemispheres, this album has amazing musicianship and deep philosophical subject matter. I recently got into Rush within the last 3 years. And this album absolutely sold me.

Metallica-
Kill ‘Em All. this was one of the first albums that got me into Metal and whiplash was one of the first songs that I learned by Metallica. it’s raw but so energetic. It was definitely the calling card of my teenage years.

Iron maiden –
Live After Death.
When you listen to a live album you’re supposed to feel like you’re there. and live after death has such excitement. It truly represents what maiden is all about. Plus the live version of The rime of the ancient Mariner rips

Pink Floyd-
Dark Side of the Moon. I grew up hearing this album a lot as a kid. as I’ve gotten older I’ve learned to love the subject matter that it talks about. there’s a great video series done by a YouTuber known as polyphonic who dissect this album.

Misfits- American Psycho. One of the first punk album’s that got me into punk. The songs are so catchy and have so much energy behind them. I would end up starting mosh pits in the hallways of my school while listening to it.

How are you spending your time during the pandemic?
During this whole pandemic I’ve been keeping busy by helping the community around me. I work in the medical cannabis industry, Going from house-to-house delivering medicine to people. It’s pretty rewarding.

But that doesn’t stop me from writing music.

Are you working on new music? If so, can you reveal any details?
I’m so stoked about the material. We as a band are just excited to be writing again. I think everyone’s going to be surprised with what we come up with!!!
