Live music and touring have been on lockdown and fans as well as artists are going through withdrawals. We wanted to come up with something fun to help bridge that distance between fans and artists right now. What we came up with is something called The Lockdown Lowdown and it’s a Q&A session with fun questions for artists to answer. They’re not your typical interview questions, so it gives you a peek inside of the artists themselves. We’re big music nerds here at I’m Music Magazine and we love learning things like this about the artists that we love. We’re pretty sure that you’ll get a kick out of these, so we hope you’ll take the time to read them. In this installment, we sat down for a fun Q&A session with Tradmrkd.
1. How have you been doing during the pandemic and how are you spending your time?
It has been alright, luckily I’ve been sharing a flat with my mates during lockdown so it has been bearable. I’ve just been working out and playing my guitar. Trying to stay as productive as I can.
2. Have you been working on new music?
We all have, by the end of lockdown we probably have enough material to create 3 albums. That is no joke. We have all been busy writing songs. It keeps us creative and sane. Hopefully, we will have a few more songs to let you guys here once we can get together and record.
3. 5 albums that changed your life
The majority of these albums are going to be Green Day as they are one of the biggest influences on my life. American Idiot was the first album that changed my life and brought me into the Green Day community; Dookie was the album that inspired me to start writing music. Nevermind by Nirvana opened me up to amazing song writing. Rumours by Fleetwood Mac showed me what an album should be. It is an absolute classic and will always be. My final album is Insomniac by Green Day. That album has gotten me through a lot of tough times.
4. 5 artists that influenced you as a musician.
Billie Joe Armstrong was the most influential musician for me. I wanted to be like him when I was younger. Kurt Cobain, his philosophy still rings true with me today and his music is just amazing. Dave Grohl, he is just one of the greatest guys in music. His charity and niceness is one personality that every musician should have. Corey Taylor, his vocal range is insane. He also showed that when at rock bottom you can hit greater heights. He is a true inspiration. Final inspiration is, Alex Turner. I feel like some of his older songs get left underappreciated; he is a modern day poet, his words sing for themselves.

Sorry will have to pass on that question. We have not toured that much and have zero stories
7. 5 favorite movies
My all time favourite movie is, Shawshank Redemption, love the book as well. Followed by that is Good Will Hunting and then Dead Poet’s Society. 2 great movies but they both have Robin Williams, an actor I absolutely adore. My 4th favourite film is the Big Lebowski, an absolute cult classic. I have lost count how many times I have read it. My 5th favourite film is Dumb and Dumber. One of the greatest comedies of all time.
8. Best and worst advice you ever heard.
Best: If this is something you want, there is no point half hearting it, put all your effort in and if it doesn’t pay off then you know it wasn’t meant to be. At least you tried.
Worst: get a real job. You are never going to make it in music so why try
9. Strangest thing you ever autographed
Having to autograph an apple. That was really weird and difficult. Who knows why they chose an apple but each to their own.
10. If music was over today and you had to go into professional wrestling, what would your wrestling name be?
The Ginja Ninja. I would be terrible at wrestling so I would probably be fired within the first day.
