On September 17th, The Midnight played Marathon Music Works in Nashville, Tennessee promoting their newest live album Red White and Bruised. It was an honor for the band to kick off their tour so close to home. A huge shout-out goes to the lighting person they have with them as it was the brightest stage setup I had ever seen, beautifully accenting their sound and show. It was super impressive to see each member play an instrument as well as have a synth station accompany them. Synthwave is a favorite genre of mine and this was the first time I got to see it performed as a full band, I was so impressed. The Midnight played hits such as “Endless Summer and Days of Thunder” and even had a special encore playing “Sunset.” You always know the band will be good when there is a saxophonist and they came out swinging on this night. The entire band has an aura of nostalgia surrounding them and vocalist Tyler Lyle’s catchy choruses had the entire building chanting the words along with him, it was a sight to see….well hear. Opening the show was DJ Flamingosis. Catch them at a show near you as the tour has just begun.
