The Offspring are currently out on the “Let The Bad Times Roll” tour, which began on August 1st in Auburn, WA and will conclude September 3rd in Mansfield, MA. We were excited to catch this incredible tour when it rolled right into PNC Music Pavilion in Charlotte, NC back on August 18th. Sum 41 and Simple Plan would open the show to help get the crowd all riled up, but the whole place erupted when The Offspring finally hit the stage.
A countdown had begun on the screen behind the stage shortly before their set, which only amped everyone up more with anticipation. Just as the fans counted down to 0, the stage went black, and a few seconds later you could hear the opening notes of “Come Out and Play.” This place was packed and every single person was on their feet and jumping when the lights came back up and you could see the whole band on stage. The Offspring played hit after hit after hit plus an entire medley of covers, and an incredible piano version of “Gone Away.” Let’s just say – there was a lot of crowd sing-alongs and definitely some lost voices after all of this was over.
The Offspring performed an incredible 16 song set before going off stage. Then they came out for a full 3 song encore which included “Lullaby,” which is off of their latest album plus “You’re Gonna Go Far, Kid” and ended the night on “Self Esteem.” Wow! Check out some shots from their set taken by I’m Music Magazine Photographer Daphne McKinney.
