We Came As Romans are out on their Darkbloom Headline Tour. Darkbloom, which was released in October 2022 via SharpTone Records is the bands first album since 2017. As well as the first one since losing co-vocalist Kyle Pavone and keyboardist Dave Stephens now stepping in as lead vocalist. The new songs are a tribute to Kyle‘s memory and every show on the tour has been as well. We got to see the band recently when they hit up The Underground at The Fillmore Charlotte in North Carolina back on January 26th.

The Underground is smaller than it’s sister venue The Fillmore and while the band could easily fill out the big room next door, they opted for the intimate setting at The Underground and it was absolutely amazing. Tickets to the event sold out way before the tour had even begun, so everyone there had been waiting for this exact moment. Dave Stephens came out screaming “When my back’s to the wall, I will conquer” and they went straight into “Daggers.” The audience from the very front of the venue to the very back were already jumping in with the music. Fans body surfing to the front were met with some high fives from the band. This was not only a celebration of Kyle’s life and memory, but this band still here and kicking down doors all along the way.

When the lights went down signaling the end of the show, the crowd was definitely not ready to leave and were all chanting “One more song!!” They were met with 2 more in fact. Openers BRAND OF SACRIFICE would join in for for “Darkbloom” and WCAR finished out the show on “Black Hole.” The fans in attendance never stopped singing along through this entire set.
