Performing for an absolutely packed house, Wednesday 13 brought his Murderdolls tour to Dingbatz in Clifton, New Jersey, on November 19th. This was a sold out show, and the crowd was full of Wednesday 13 fans, many of them dressed the part, including full faces of makeup that must have taken hours to complete. It was an impressive sight. And fitting, because the love this crowd had for Wednesday 13 was palpable through the entire set. Before his set began, I had one woman fill me in on the entire history of Murderdolls and Frankenstein Drag Queens From Planet 13 (Wednesday 13’s other band), and when they played “197666” the crowd was so excited, I honestly had a moment where I wondered if the floor was going to hold up to all the jumping. They all loved Wednesday 13. That was very clear. It’s always special to me when I can watch the musicians and the audience connect through music, and it was very clear that night that everyone in that room became one through song.

During the set, Wednesday 13 mentioned that when Joey Jordison called him to join Murderdolls, he was working at Kmart. Then, near the end of his set he said, “Thank you for coming out tonight. Thank you for 21 years of not working at Kmart.” It got some laughs and some cheers, but for me, it was a touching moment. This man is living his dreams and here is a venue packed to the rafters with people supporting him in his dream. I’m happy for him. We should all have that kind of support for our dreams, and I’m glad that he does. With the show he put on, he definitely earned it. It’s definitely a must see.
