ZZ Top is one of those rare bands who managed to keep its founding members intact during its entire run. The band was founded in by Billy Gibbons, Dusty Hill and Frank Beard. Unfortunately, Hill passed away in 2021 at the age of 72. Many fans thought that was going to be the end of the band. By the time of Hill’s death in 2021, ZZ Top had become the longest-running band with an unchanged lineup in the history of popular music. Per Hill’s wishes, he was replaced by their longtime guitar tech Elwood Francis on bass. Fast forward to 2023 and the guys were a part of another big tour. This outing is the Sharp Dressed Simple Man Tour 2023 and the guys have teamed up with Lynyrd Skynyrd. ZZ Top performed right before Skynyrd and played a hot set of all-time favorites spanning their entire career. Everything from “Waiting For The Bus” and “Pearl Necklace” to the MTV staples “Sharp Dressed Man” and “Legs.” A full setlist follows the photo gallery. I’m Music Magazine Owner/Editor Johnny Price was there and brought back some awesome pix of the guys in action!
