Wildstreet recently wrapped up a one-of-a-kind type of tour. Instead of having the full band and usual mayhem and craziness we’re all used to, vocalist Eric Jayk along with drummer Dylan Graff set out on a full acoustic tour. We were beyond excited at I’m Music Magazine to catch a couple of dates on this tour.
On June 29, 2025, Wildstreet rolled into The Rooster in Gastonia, NC for one of these dates. It set for an awesome night. The Rooster, who is known around the Carolinas for being a pivotal part of the local metal community, was just wrapping up a full week of metal shows. June 29th was a Sunday night, and The Rooster was hosting their after-party, which was headlined that night by Wildstreet.
This ended up being a really special evening. I’m not used to actually getting the chance to completely chill out at a concert, but this was the night for it. Since it’s summer, it was hot outside and still daylight when the opener was set to hit the stage. We got to go inside, have some drinks, and chill out in the nice a/c all while being entertained by live music. What’s not to love about that?
When Wildstreet hit the stage, I didn’t actually know what to expect. I’m used to full energy packed shows from these guys. And you know what? They actually still gave that! It wasn’t the “normal” acoustic concert I usually see, with musicians sitting on a stool and playing and telling stories. We got the story telling, we got all the interaction, but definitely no stools. Vocalist Eric Jayk still had his energy even carrying an acoustic guitar that night and was as always the ultimate showman.
Eric Jayk and Dylan Graff hit the stage that night diving straight into “Tennessee Cocaine,” which I had to thank them for that because personally, it’s my favorite Wildstreet track. I was pretty excited, but the rest of the set was also amazing, and I definitely was not ready for it to end. This show did, however, make the perfect ending to a full week and left us all energized to get back to it.
