Chevelle’s upcoming release, Bright as Blasphemy, due out August 15th, stays true to the band’s unmistakable brand: heavy, hypnotic, and relentlessly engaging. Brothers Pete Loeffler (guitars, vocals) and Sam Loeffler (drums) bring that crushing groove and unmistakable foot-stomping energy right out of the box with “Pale Horse,” a track that sets the tone with raw intensity.
The momentum continues with the brooding concept pair, “Rabbit Hole (Cowards, Pt. 1)” and “Jim Jones (Cowards, Pt. 2),” each delivering a mix of stomp and head-bob-inducing riffs that Chevelle fans know and love.
“Wolves (Love and Light)” offers a powerful mid-album surge- melodic, haunting, and heavy with emotion, while “AI Phobias” digs into darker, modern themes with an industrial edge that hits like a warning siren from the future.
From start to finish, Bright as Blasphemy is a full-on immersive experience. Every track pulls you in deeper like a tractor beam, delivering that signature mix of tight musicianship, lyrical weight, and sonic exploration. This is one of those albums you play straight through-no skips, just straight-up ear candy from start to finish- as in my experience- the same as all Chevelle albums as they don’t waste space. August 15th can’t get here fast enough!
Chevelle has once again proven they’re masters of their craft. Bright as Blasphemy demands to be played loud- volume high, bass low and heavy, windows down.
Dave over and out!
