The first annual Carolina Chainsaw Massacre Festival took place on June 3-4, 2022 in North Carolina. This festival included not only a day of meet & greets with famous horror movie icons, then each night turned into a kick ass concert. The stage featured not only some local North Carolina metal bands but also some old school death & thrash metal bands. We were stoked to have the opportunity to photograph the music portion of the festival.
Night one took place at The Kraken in Chapel Hill, NC. This is a small bar that includes a pretty sweet outside stage. Here are some highlights from day 1 on the stage shared by I’m Music Magazine photographer, Daphne McKinney.
The first band on stage that night was Paezor, which is a black metal band out of Greensboro, NC. They did a great job of getting the festival started.
Raw Hex is a metal band out of Charlotte, NC and definitely got the crowd going.
Final Punishment is a death core band located in Greensboro, NC.
Perdition Temple, a death metal band out of Tampa, FL hit the stage next.
DECEASED is known as one of the longest running American death metal bands around and it was awesome to see them hit the stage just as the sun went down and the crowd got crazy.
