On April 26, 2026, The Black Dahlia Murder returned to the stage headlining the Spring Fling US Tour at the UC Theatre in Berkeley, CA featuring heavy support from The Acacia Strain, Disembodied Tyrant and Corpse Pile.
The Black Dahlia Murder‘s melodic death metal sound brought high intensity to the bay area that caused the crowd to gather and start insane mosh pits to crowd surf. The band’s performance of their newest album Servitude was unbelievably good and in my opinion Trevor Strnad’s legacy was honored with the band keeping the same sound with their current frontman Brian Eschbach.
The whole line up itself to this show was just massive and heavy. Being able to see these bands for the first time was definitely awesome.
Every single band provided heavy riffs and insane energy to the crowd. It was like a warm up to the audience prior to having the almighty Black Dahlia Murder perform their set. They played songs from their previous albums featuring, “Nocturnal, Miasma and Unhallowed” with my favorite being “Nocturnal.”
Being able to cover this concert for photography was very rewarding. From witnessing the Statutory Ape come running out on stage, ensuring that the audience gets their potassium intake by tossing bananas to the crowd. Brian Eschbach dedicated their set in memory of Trevor to honor him as he ran into the pit, causing a massive gathering around him as others continued to mosh and enjoy the moment. Overall it was a memorable night in the metal community where everyone was able to enjoy themselves regardless of what life looks like.
